Rules of Play

 

  1. Rules of Play: All Tournament matches will be played in accordance with the “Laws of the Game” as issued by FIFA except as modified by the tournament. All decisions concerning rules and policy, including the interpretation thereof, are at the sole discretion of 2006 Red Bull NL U17 Raleigh Event Tournament Director or her designate.

  1. Game Length: All games will be 90 (ninety) minutes in length. 1 game Friday, 1 game Saturday and 1 game on Sunday. Games mayl end in tie.

  1. Team and Player Final Team Check-In: All teams are required to register 1 hour prior to the start of the team’s first game for final team approval. Location of this check-in will be at the field where the team is playing. Each player must be registered with an association recognized by US Youth Soccer, and must be on a state/league approved roster. Both US Club and USYS Rosters and player passes are accepted. Each team must present the following:

    1. Approved Roster – 1 original and 4 copies

    2. Permission to Travel(USYS participating teams) or Proof of Insurance(US Club participating teams)

    3. Notarized/Current 06/07 Medical Release From for each player

    4. Any and all required guest player documentation.

  1. Roster Size: Maximum roster size is 22. All teams are U17 (8/1/89). 18 players MUST be declared prior to each game. ONLY 18 players may dress and play in any 1 game.

  1. Guest Players: Each team may have a maximum of 3 guest players. The maximum roster size is 22 including all guest players. Each guest player must be properly registered and carded by the same type of association the team is playing as. If team is playing with USYS roster and passes the guest players must also have a USYS player pass. All guest players must meet their leagues/associations requirements as guest and present these documents as part of final team check-in. A notarized medical release is also required fro each guest player. All guests must meet the same requirements as all players.

  1. Substitutions:

  1. Infractions: A player receiving a red card during a game will not be permitted to play in his team’s next game. The same is true for a player receiving 2 yellow cards in one game. A team will be allowed to replace a player sent off for either receiving a direct red or 2 yellow’s. A team will not play short. Coaches, other bench officials and spectators will not be allowed to coach/be present at the team’s next match. Each coach is responsible for the actions of his players, parents and bench areas. Coaches not taking responsibility for his sideline’s conduct may be cautioned and/or ejected. NCYSA rules state that any player, coach, parent that is ejected must not be within sight or sound of the playing field for the remainder of the current game and the immediate next game. In accordance with FIFA rules, only players will be shown a card (yellow or red) when being cautioned or sent off.

  1. Inclement Weather: The Tournament Committee reserves the right to shorten games, change fields, or cancel any or all games due to weather or conditions. In this case no refund will be issued.

  1. Player Profiles: Team profiles will be distributed by the Tournament. The details of this information will be part of the tournament packet.

  1. Participation Fee: Teams will NOT be charged any fee for participating in this event.

  1. Hotel Requirements: All teams participating in this event are required to use Partners in Team Travel to make housing reservations.
